I have bought too much but my excuse is new job and no 'new' clothes since about 2001, so I do need a few bits and pieces....
I bought these in the my-wardrobe sale, they are Ash and were about £80, they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn
Markus Lupfer from matches.com (on sale £165)
Herve Leger leggings from Net A Porter (too expensive to admit but I will wear them forever)
Missoni dress from my-wardrobe £585 still on sale now
2 wild fox from ASOS about £90
What is interesting is most of it is just 'buy now wear now' there is no point in even thinking about Summer as the weather is awful and by July I will have changed my mind 10 times about what I would like to wear.
The Missoni dress is my only forward planning.
I notice I have basically bought all luxe sportswear, it just shows you can take the girl out of the gym but you can't take the gym blah blah blah.
They'll be pics to come of all of it as I put it together in my usual haphazard way, it is no wonder my mum feels inclined to keep a steady supply of clothes coming my way.
Have you succeeded in having a lean February?
Does anyone ever actually buy 'new season' and wait for the good weather?
Or like me are you more, buy it now, wear it now?
I guess we could of donated what we spent in Feb to Cancer Research, trouble is the money donated goes towards plush offices with huge rents and not to where it should be going, the research. On a brighter note you have bought some lovely things,wish I had your budget, think I need a new job!
ReplyDeleteso true about the charity gravy train, don't get me started, regional managers earning £120k a year to manage shops etc less than 5% of aid money ever reaching its destination, I couldn't agree more. I was thinking more about our collective brainpower, although I got a lowly C in my biology o level so wouldn't be much help!
DeleteThe problem is that I don't really have the cash, as they pay is not good, but I slightly feel as I chose to take the plunge, I am obliged to 'play the game'.
Ooh excellent choices! I do buy for spring/summer - fingers crossed, I love having things ready, I haven't bought anything yet but my list is forming, mostly jersey ( again, my gym clothes have ruined me) or loose dresses in light colours.

I buy as I see ... to wear pretty much immediately ... and having been out of work for two years (including college for one), my budget is still playing catch up, so I don't have a huge amount to invest in my wardrobe sadly. DeleteYour choices are lovely. I never stock up for summer, only for the colder months...There is something about the heat, and white legs that never seem to look tan enough that makes me feel uninspired.....We will be in London April 11-18.

He is doing cricket training every day for two hours (and revising for dreaded exams) so we could do any morning for coffee and cakes. Let me know when you have an idea of a schedule and we can sort out a time.
